Team Saturdazzle: The One With the C2E2 Droppoff and the Anniversary Twins

Another Saturday another Saturdazzle. The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Exposition  (C2E2)is this weekend. I went 2 years ago with my daughters as part of what I called a geek triathalon (comic book convention, dr who convention, and a Rennasaince fair). My daughters went to C2E2 again last year. Once was enough for me. (This was more due to the cost/enjoyment ratio than anything else.) My younger daughter and her friend dressed up
Last year so I drove them the hour into the city from our area and spent Saturday in the city.

I had a fun day as did they and this year Amy and I are going to celebrate our anniversary in the city and dropp off our older daughter to C2E2 Amy and I are dressed alike and look like we are visiting the big city from out of town which technically we are, we usually just blend in more.

A To Z update

As of today I am 1 letter behind as of tomorrow I'll be 2 letters back. I am not in a rush this year and am planning to complete the challenge. I'd like to read more of other people's entries which is still one of my favorite parts of the challenge.

I did post yesterday and today so I guess I could have done some alphabetical gymnastics to get those posts to match the letters of the day. I didn't want to play that way.

That's it for now I should be back today or tomorrow.  Whenever it is it will be Jest the right time.

Happy Anniversary to Marty!

Today Amy and I have been married for 27 years.  We are spring chickens when compared to Marty  and Clara whose romance begin for film goers 70 years ago today.  April 11th 1955 was the premiere of the film Marty starring Ernest Borgnine.

To celebrate this special event I have 5 videos t share:

1: An analysis of the film

2. An actor's remembrance of Ernest Borgnine

3. Borgnine's Oscar acceptance speech upon winning Best Actor for Marty

4. deleted scenes from Marty

5. Ernest Borgnine discussing the film

The film Marty has always been an important film to Amy and myself.  We first learned of it in the Robert Redford directed Quiz Show where the film Marty  is an integral part of the exposition of the main conflict of Quiz Show.  That led us to watching Marty which quickly became one of our favorites.  Now that we know that we share the same anniversary we may make watching it part of own celebration.
