The Best Christmas Gift Ever

Time once again for Thursday

@ Self Sagacity

Here are my two questions:

Question 1

What is the best Christmas present you ever received?

This year I received this book.

You might not be able to tell by the cover.  But this book is probably the best give I ever received.

Here is what, the folks at Amazon call, a look inside.

That is my son reading and as I have mentioned in other posts, my son has really struggled learning to read.  This year he has made a series of breakthroughs and thus, this Christmas was able to read the entire book and my wife recorded it as a keepsake for me.  As I type this, I am beginning to cry.  I am so thankful to God that our hard work is paying off and thankful for a wife who loves us so much that she wanted to commemorate our achievement.

Question 2

What is your favorite part of your favorite season?

I think I like all 4 seasons of the year pretty much equally.  I certainly have my favorite part of each season.  For winter, it has to be what is scheduled for this evening.  Snow, and plenty of it.  I especially love sledding with the kids.

Those are my 2 questions.  I am looking forward to your answers.

This post's  featured HSBA blog is Handbook of Nature Study winner in the Best Homeschool Nature/Field Trip category.  I really like the look and feel of this blog.  It is the home of an outddor carnival that I want to look into more deeply in the future.  I really enjoyed this sample post.

My favorite Christmas present has to be when my DH bought me an engagement ring. You see, I lost mine shortly after the birth of our third child. I was heart sick for years. The Christmas of 2001, he totally surprised me with a lovely ring. This one, he was wise to get insurance on. lol.

My favorite season has to be either spring or fall, but like you, I enjoy parts of all four seasons. What I like most about spring and fall are the colors. In the spring, the return of life to our dormed earth - splashes of color abound. Tiny flowers sway their little heads, tender green foliage and blades of grass pop forth, and pastel tree buds spring open. It's a glorious sight. In the fall time, God's beauty is seen as nature displays her real colors of red, yellow, and orange. The shades go from vibrant to mute in a course of a few weeks, but it matters not because at these various stages the fall foliage is a splendor to behold. This is so wonderful your son is making wonderful progress with his reading. Our son struggled when he was younger, but he does a grand job now. He'll be graduating our homeschool this spring.

Happy Belated New Year Homeschool Dad. I am so happy for you too! What a fantastic job you've done. Hands down,to you my friend to be able to stay home and homeschool your kids. So amazing! I enjoyed my time at home with my daughter, who is now four. But I am much happier working. Great photos of your family there, I enjoyed my visit here today.
1) My favorite present was a Capucino machine, it's automatic, so I use it everyday and it has paid off handsomely.
2) My favorite season is summer, the best part about it is being outdoors. Playing with my plants and flowers in the garden, watching the flowers bloom. Barbecuing in our backyard, relaxing with my SO and kids and feeling like I am on vacation everytime.

It is wonderful what you do!
I homeschool until the kids go off to Kindergarten. I really wanted to homeschool, but their father wishes them to attend public school.

My favorite Christmas gift so far is the narnia books I received from my husband. All the books together! Very special!

2. My favorite season is Fall. It's so beautiful to see the colors changing and then it's not warn or cold, it's just right.
Of course Spring is running neck and neck too because of all of nature coming back to life in a different kind of way. I love seeing the flowers and grass change and trees being clothed again..wow!

Aloha!
