The Newfangled Four - A Spoonful of Sugar (parody) [from Mary Poppins]

I  found this the other day on YouTube while looking up prune videos.  Not sure why it would come up there, but I am glad it did.

This video resonated in me for multiple reasons: 1. I have had multiple family members over the years who have participated in singing groups.  My first trip on an airplane was because my Mom's Sweet Adeline's group was going to sing in Washington D.C. and families were allowed to come with.  Both my sisters have been in Sweet Adeline's as well. I also have several family members who have been in Barber Shop Quartets.  2) I love parodies, write them myself, and love to see them performed.  3) Since the time my youngest daughter was in 4th grade started performing in speech contests, my wife and I have been volunteer judges in them. This performance is a send-up of judging rubrics, especially for judging barber shop quartets, but I found it matched up to speech judging in a most delightful way.

Extra Bonus Video: Judges by The Fabulous Bentley Brothers from Jelly Telly which was Phil Vischer's follow up to Veggie Tales.  And, yes the Bentley Brothers are Rhett & Link.

OPV: What's In The Bible: Judges

I have shared this video here before. It was back in April 2016 when I was doing Y is for You Tube as my theme for the A to Z Challenge.

Instead of rehashing my intro from then here, I will just add this.

My older daughter hates this song.  Because a) many family members use to sing the song excessively and b) many of the same family members sang it even more regularly upon receiving that information.  My part in that fiasco can not be elaborated on any greater than that due to a plea-bargaining agreement.  However, I am not breaking my parole, by sharing it here.

I just realized that that particular clip cuts the song off after one chorus and leaves out many of my favorite parts.  Since I believe this song is best when listened to multiple times.  I am including the full video here.  But be careful, multiple listening is part of what led to my legal problems.  Can you and your family handle it? You be the judge!

J is for Judges

You Tube A TO Z

J is for Judges

When Veggie Tale creator Phil Vischer started a web based bible series called Jelly Telly,  he had different feautures he would rotate in.  One was a group called The Fabulous Bentley Brothers who would sing snippets  of Old Testament bible books.  The song Judges does for memorizing all the judges in the Old Testament what School House Rock did for memorizing the preamble of the constitution.  And yes that's Rhett and Link, who you may remember from F is for Facebook as the Fabulous Bentley Brothers.

F is for Facebook

You Tube A TO Z
F is for Facebook

I am a big fan of the work of Rhett & Link.  Their video Facebook was one of the first things I was of theirs.  While it's true that FB has changed over the years this song still works.

Other People's Videos

As much as I'd like, this can't all be all about me.  Every once in a while I like to post other people's videos, (OPV), such as this one from Rhett and Link:
